As part of our team, you will be actively contributing to a safer world for future generations.<br/><br/>Need<br/><br/>Parsons is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to support this work.  The successful candidate will have experience in the following areas.<br/><br/><b>Position Overview:</b><br/><br/>Works as directed by the Quality Manager, in support of  BOS-E inspection services at the New Campus - East in Springfield VA, Bethesda, MD, and/or Washington Navy Yard facility.  Provides quality control inspection activities on assigned project and/ or functional areas to ensure that products or services provided are in accordance with customer and Parsons requirements. Regularly interacts with other employees, representatives from a variety of functional groups, and project management, suppliers, subcontractors and client on project. Works with limited direct supervision on assigned tasks.<br/><br/>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:<br/><br/>Responsible for:<br/><br/>1)    Implementing inspection, examination, and testing procedures<br/><br/>2)    Recording inspection, examination, and testing data<br/><br/>3)    Planning inspections, evaluations, and tests; setting up tests, including preparation and set-up of related equipment<br/><br/>4)    Evaluating the validity and acceptability of inspection, examination and testing results<br/><br/>5)    Reporting inspection, examination and testing results<br/><br/>6)    Providing leadership to lower-level QC Inspectors<br/><br/>7)    Evaluating the adequacy of specific programs used to train and test inspection, examination, and testing personnel<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>Required<br/><br/>* US citizenship and TS/SCI clearance required<br/>* High School/Trade School diploma and 8 years of related construction experience or 2 years as a Quality Control Inspector Level.<br/>* Appropriate Quality Control Inspector Certification required within 12 months of employment.<br/><br/>It is anticipated that individuals will be certified to perform activities in one or more of the following areas (or subjects):   Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Instrumentation and Controls, Civil, Structural, Architectural, HVAC, Welding, Non-Destructive Examination, Receiving, and Special Processes. Mission needs cover multiple operating sites [Springfield/NCE, Bethesda (MD) and Washington Navy Yard (DC)], which require a coordination of environmental support services.  The individual will ensure the Mission's ESOH Plan & SOPs satisfy applicable Federal, state and local environmental regulations; and, he/she will implement Parsons (SHARP) Corporate Safety Policy for planning and execution of environmental tasks at each facility.  The Environmental Engineer will report functionally to the Program Manager and organizationally to the ESOH Manager.<br/><br/>This position requires proof of US Citizenship and TS/SCI Clearance.<br/><br/>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:<br/><br/>The Environmental Engineer is responsible for:<br/><br/>* Providing technical assistance for environmental permitting and/or modifications, compliance monitoring and audits, and Federal & state reporting for air, water and waste aspects of facility operations<br/><br/>* Assisting the ESOH department in conducting scheduled environmental compliance & safety audits and inspections of facilities, and assuring environmental compliance records are organized and maintained per applicable regulations<br/><br/>* Coordinating environmental compliance sampling/testing as required by applicable permits and regulations, including interfacing with external laboratories relative to sampling protocol(s), chain of custody, etc.<br/><br/>* Communicating audit/inspection deficiencies to site operations personnel, and facilitating & tracking their corrective actions through implementation<br/><br/>* Reporting environmental non-compliance notifications to the appropriate agencies as required; and, maintaining all required documentation and records<br/><br/>* Coordinating and facilitating significant near-miss and incident investigations associated with non-compliant events; including communication of action items and tracking of resolutions<br/><br/>* Providing oversight & technical support to the NGA/BOS-E organization for various preventive/corrective maintenance and project tasks<br/><br/>* Developing, assisting and monitoring program(s) for waste reduction<br/><br/>* Providing support to ESOH department as appropriate for assuring daily operating requirements are satisfied at each facility<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:<br/><br/>BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering, with at least 5 years industrial experience involving air, water and waste disciplines (or equivalent),.<br/><br/>SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:<br/><br/>Working knowledge of Federal/state/local regulations and reporting procedures for environmental and safety, including but not limited to RCRA, CAA, CWA, TSCA, OSHA etc<br/><br/>Proficiency with MS Office and other software tools<br/><br/>Excellent verbal & written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills<br/><br/>Candidates are encouraged to apply at www.parsonsjobs.com  to requisition 02456.
