Other duties may include outdoor and indoor work, working at heights and working in a confined space. 		<title>Engineer I Job (Washington, DC, US)</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Engineer I-02357<br/><br/><b>Description:</b><br/><br/>GENERAL OVERVIEW<br/><br/>Serves on a Full Time basis as an  Engineer I (Mechanical Engineer) supporting the TSSC-III Program through the National Technical Region, based out of Washington, DC.  Moderate travel throughout the United States is required.<br/><br/>The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of professional experience or a combination of experience and related training and perform the following duties:<br/><br/>TYPICAL ASSIGNMENTS<br/><br/>Develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering designs and supervises the monitoring of construction and/or installation.  This includes establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.<br/><br/>In-office design reviews, prepartation of technical specification, on-site technical assistance, plan and organize material orders for on-site installation technicians, provide project monitoring of construction contractors to assure adherence to design documents and contract documents, and assist Regional Program Manager with documentation controls, reports, deliverables, and analysis of project costs.<br/><br/>Assists Construction Manager and Engineers in application of principles, methods, and techniques of construction/civil engineering technology.<br/><br/>Candidate will be involved in the plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions, design changes, progress evaluations and reports.<br/><br/>Candidate is required to prepare reports detailing tests conducted and their results.  Assembling, typing, distributing and maintaining Punch Lists, problem notice and resolution documentation (AN, NCN & CAR), close out documents and other end-of-project activity documentation.<br/><br/>Candidate will attend and participate in "on site" meetings throughout the project and participate in  briefings for employees during various phases of the project.<br/><br/>Candidate will be able to create proposals, present proposals to the client, work designers and CAD operators to create system designs, creating technical specifications, reviewing multi-discipline design packages, completing procurement requisitions for required materials and services, using an internet based Project Management System to update, report and archive projects documentation and executing projects with subcontractors.<br/><br/>Perform other duties as assigned.<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS<br/><br/>Must have a 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related Engineering Degree) plus and a minimum of 2 -5 years of related work experience.<br/><br/>Moderate travel through the United States is required.<br/><br/>Proficiency with AutoCad and/or Microstation is preferred.<br/><br/>Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint is required.
