The successful candidate will have helped create and manage a system that is Maximo based for a US government information systems security agency.  The database system to be developed will help administer and maintain these facilities in a LAN environment and it will be supported by MS SQL and Access.  Archibus as well as Windows Server 2k and XP operating systems will also be components of this system.  As such, you must be well versed in the applications of this hardware and software and be able to strategize and plan their development and configuration.  You will be the primary interface between our programmers and the user population and will be responsible for cost and schedule on IT deliverables.  Once the database system is operational, you will manage the team performing server backup, restoral, and systems maintenance. The Estimator at this level utilizes his/her broad experience, expertise, and exposure to various types of company projects and clients, and regularly exercises his/her familiarity of company and project practices and procedures.<br/><br/>This position can be located in DC, MD, VA or NY.<br/><br/>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:<br/>Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult and complex estimating problems. Assists project management with preparation of schedules for estimate preparation, review, and publication. May lead a small team of estimators who are qualified to perform capital cost estimating.<br/><br/>Prepares material takeoffs on the most complex projects, drawings, and plans. Reviews takeoffs provided by the Engineering Department and checks for mathematical and technical accuracy. Parsons connects communities by delivering safe and efficient transportation infrastructure all over the world.<br/><br/>Sector Description<br/><br/>Parsons' tunneling expertise has been honed through a myriad of rail and water infrastructure projects spanning the globe, from the $9.7 billion WMATA program whose innovative and pioneering techniques continue to establish standards in the tunneling industry - to the engineering and design of the complex Section C11A1 of the Central Artery project in Boston -  to the planning and design of the 50-kilometer Izmir Ring Road in Turkey that encompassed three tunnel sections totaling more than 2,100 meters.  Parsons is adept at a variety of project delivery methods, including design-build and public-private partnerships.<br/><br/>Need<br/><br/>Our Bridge and Tunnel Division requires a Tunnel Sector Manager to function in both management and strategic business development roles to assist Parsons in strengthening our leadership in tunnel design and construction management.  We are seeking a candidate whose prior experience includes a demonstrated track record of driving organizational growth and successfully incorporating design and/or construction management innovations in highway, rail and water infrastructure tunneling.  Background will also include operations management of engineering and construction personnel.  The successful candidate will be a recognized expert in the tunnel industry, with a broad vision that will build on Parsons existing reputation and accomplishments.
