Parsons is seeking candidates to support site engineering operations in Western Canada. Most work is being performed within the Province of Alberta and is supported from Calgary. The position requires highly motivated, self driven, technically competent individuals, with oil sands industry experience.

The Architect is responsible for implementing, monitoring and facilitating standard practices as they relate to major projects within the oil sands industry.

Qualifications

Required KNOWLEDGE, qualifications, skills, and experiences:

* Excellent communication skills (Verbal, oral and written)
*
Thorough and working knowledge of:

· Oil sands industry Architectural principles, theories, concepts and practices

· Alberta environmental and building codes, certifications (ABSA), standards and trade practices

*
BS or MS degree in Architecture is required.

*
The proven ability to build team consensus, successfully lead within a matrix organization, motivate others and to consistently meet objectives.

*
10+ years of professional experience in the oil sands industry, at least 5 of which should include managing or supervising others.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will help plan for the execution of projects while meeting the customer requirements, budgets and schedule.

Will be responsible for data collection/ management, coordination with customer and Design Managers on project cost estimation, preparation of RFP/statements of work , assist in defining scope for projects, drafting correspondence, as well as attendance, participation in meetings.

Will participate in Capital Improvement subject matter meetings and prepare attendance notes.

Will meet project schedules and budgets in conformance with project and customer requirements and coordinate with other team members to assure schedules, cost estimates and strategies are accurate and executable.

Will deliver, review and comment on project documents and provide determinations of project requirements, coordinate work flow processes, schedule/ coordinate action plans, inform cognizant personnel, minimize project delays and participate as a focal point in the project completion as well as provide project status, issues, costs and schedule or other information to management as well as other federal, or state jurisdictions as required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor Degree in Architecture and minimum of 5 years Project Management and Architectural experience including at least 1 year specialized experience in performing tasks identified herein working on Navy or other federal agency Capital Improvement projects.

Must be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook). Experience using CAD and other design related software is preferred.

Parsons International is looking for a Landscape Architect with experience in design and construction of public realm landscapes including expressways, city streets, public parks, as well as within private developments.

Responsibilities:

Planning, design, management, maintenance and monitoring functional and aesthetic layouts of built environment in urban, suburban, and rural areas including private and public open spaces, parks, gardens, streetscapes, plazas, housing developments, tourist, commercial, industrial and educational complexes; sports grounds, and recreation areas.

Contributing to the planning, aesthetic and functional design, Location:, management and maintenance of infrastructure such as roads, utilities, and major development projects.

Undertaking landscape assessments including environmental and visual impact assessments.

Inspecting sites, analyzing factors such as climate, soil, flora, fauna, surface and subsurface water and drainage; and consulting with clients and making recommendations regarding methods of work and sequences of operations for projects related to the landscape and built environment.

Identifying and developing appropriate solutions regarding the quality and use of the built environment in urban, suburban and rural areas and making designs, plans and working drawings, specifications of work, cost estimates and time schedules.

Monitoring the realization and inspecting the construction of landscape designs to ensure compliance with plans, specifications of work, cost estimates and time schedules.

Project management of large scale landscape planning and design projects including management of other consultants such as engineers, architects and planners.

Qualifications

* Degree in Landscape Architecture or Engineering.
* Minimum10 years experience in all areas of landscape development (hard, soft, irrigation).
* Training and experience in horticulture is highly desired.
* Registration as Professional/Chartered Landscape Architect or Engineer is desired but not required.
* Proven ability to perform in a management capacity.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
