		<title>Senior Measurement and Contracts Engineer Job (, Oman)</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Generally, review and maintain knowledge of Terms and Conditions of all contracts. Identify and report potential problem areas, particularly those that are likely to give rise to claims. Generally monitor and report on the progress of all civil engineering contracts. Flag issues that might result in delay or claim and advise the project manager of any risks that will affect the overall timely delivery of the project or significant cost escalation or potential opportunities for cost reduction. Provide proactive advise so as to minimize claim and delay. Advise on contractual issue as they arise and provide appropriate contractual solutions: Manage a team of site based Quantity Surveyor, who will be generally checking and certifying measurements. Advise on contractual matters. Ensure completeness and validity of contractual requirements. Survey and measure work in progress and check contractors' interim payments applications. Audit payments to contractors. Ensure prompt submittal and completeness of valuations. Check and record measure of work done. Prepare variations and day works. Negotiate 'rates' with contractors where necessary. Maintain expenditure records. Review, negotiate and prepare claim settlements with the Client. Establish a claim register and ensure that proper claim records are being maintained. Provide mediation when required. Prepare financial settlements for financial statements for monthly report. Liaise with Client in all financial and contractual matters throughout the course of all contracts. Conduct final measure on work executed and prepare and agree final accounts. Assist in close-out of completed claims. <br/> Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 10 years postgraduate experience of similar work with progressively increasing responsibility. At least 5 years as a Senior Quantity Surveyor. Candidates should be familiar to FIDIC Conditions of Contract. Preferred candidate with Gulf experience on major wastewater projects and having valid GCC driving license. Candidates must be proficient in English both written and oral.
