Storage Architect

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Storage Architect has the primary role of the design of the IT storage infrastructure. In the this role, the Architect will oversees the creation of storage services such as Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Networks (SAN), Archival, Backup, Storage Resource Management, and Virtualization and the integrations required between these services. The incumbant will be fully responsible for the performance, tuning and operations of the storage architecture components.

Key Duties:
· Architects storage systems and application/service design and implementation
· Provide leadership and educational guidance to storage team members
· Evaluate and recommend new storage technology devices, software, procedures
· Monitor disk and file systems performance and tuning
· Perform critical storage servers upgrades, manage data flow and I/O redistribution
· Provide ability to deep dive into any storage subject area when needed.
· Designs and manages proper implementation and support across multiple storage services
· Participate in the design and enhancements of enterprise systems and their associated architectures including storage systems components
This position will be filled if Parsons is successful in winning the contract. Contingent offers may be made in anticipation of Award which is projected for early Feb/March 2010.

Experience & Qualifications

Clearance: Candidate must possess TS/SCI with full scope polygraph clearance.
Bachelors degree from a recognized 4 year university or equivalent experience. BS in Computer Science preferred plus

· In depth knowledge of disk-based storage hardware including storage controllers, SAN and raid disk configurations
· Demonstrated experience with distributed file systems, storage arrays, replication and virtualization technologies, volume and file system management products and backup solutions
· A minimum of Three (3) years experience in
· Brocade SAN products,
· IBM EMC and HP disk arrays,
· ADIC StoreNext product, and
· Enterprise Netbackup (Symantec/Veritas and
· Strong working knowledge of
· Unix File Systems (such as UFS, XFS, VxFS, AdvFS, JFS, etc)
· Enterprise RAID disk arrays provided by EMC, IBM, and HP (Hitachi)
· Fundamental understanding of local and remote business continuance issues (IBM) FlashCopy and PPRC, HP Business Copy XP, and EMC Business Continuance Volumes and SRDF, mid-range RAID disk arrays (provided by EMC, IBM, LSI Logic, Sun, Compaq, etc)
· Disk and File Systems performance and tuning - Network Attached Storage (NFS and CIFS).
· Proof of US citizenship is required
