POSITION OVERVIEW: :
Performs a variety of project control assignments requiring the application of basic techniques and analyses. Assists in developing and implementing cost control support and/or in providing centralized planning and scheduling services to complete engineering, procurement, and construction activities for assigned projects. The Project Controls Engineer/Specialist at this level gains exposure to Company policies and procedures and utilizes his/her professional training on a variety of assignments. Occasionally, the Associate Project Control Engineer may gain further experience by rotating through Estimating, Cost Engineering, and Planning
Scheduling cost centers. Assignments are of a nature to emphasize the use of a personal computer, requiring familiarity with various Project Controls software such as Excel, Primavera, and Document and Materials Controls System (DMCS). U.S. Citizenship Required
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES::
Cost Engineering:
Prepares input to the cost control system for the cost ledger, engineering budget and cost report, and the field cost report. Maintains clear communications between the affected departments and Project Controls to ensure accurate data.
Prepares graphs, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate cost status and forecast requirements for Project Management and client.
Performs analytical review and arithmetic checks of cost reporting documentation.
Planning and Scheduling:
Assists in preparing, updating, and monitoring schedules, and in preparing status reports and staffing curves.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
4-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or related field) and 0-3 years of related work experience.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field. Proficient PC skills including, a familiarity with various software used in the Project Controls Department, such as Excel, Primavera, and Document and Materials Controls System (DMCS) are also required.
