Senior Paving Construction Inspector

Need
The Paving Construction Inspector will be responsible for providing daily quality inspections and surveillance of the contractor's Quality Control Program and attending and documenting meetings between construction contractor and Corps representatives

Specific responsibilities include:
-Evaluates construction Contractor's Quality Control activities
-Notify Corps of any potential claims or disputes and any potential disputed interpretations of contract documents
-Participates and takes notes at pre-final and final inspections; conducts reviews of the contractor's maintenance of accurate as-built drawings and provides comments on completed as-built drawings on a monthly basis
-Coordinates schedule of start-up tests, demonstrations, and field instructions
-Provides written comments on field conditions and impact of changes recommended or requested by others
-Provides construction photographs documenting progress and problem areas;
-Provides advice on general construction methods and practices as may be requested by the Corps

This position is located in Melbourne, FL

Requirements

10 years of related field construction, quality experience in paving and/or airport runway experience. A broad general construction background is required
2 year degree in Construction or Quality (or related field)
Must possess a thorough knowledge of current electrical paving technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for us on the project
Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity with industry practices and regulation
