Opportunity
The Waste Water Project Manager will provides direction and management for all facets of industrial wastewater conceptual design projects to ensure on schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations. Plans and defines project goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. Ability to transition to the detailed design or design-build a plus.
Specific responsibilities include:
· Project Management of conceptual design of system upgrades to refinery wastewater treatment plants.
· Identification and definition of major wastewater system upgrade opportunities and assistance to the Program and Business Development Managers in pursuit.
· Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administration functions of the assigned project.
· Acts as the company representative with the client and subcontractors. Negotiates changes to the scope. Markets and secures additional work with the client in conjunction with the Program Manager.
· Establishes the requirements for all areas of the project and reviews draft deliverables or implements the QA/QC program.
· Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
· Mentors staff and participates in annual review with the Program Manager
· Negotiate with regulatory agencies and support clients in meetings.
· Execute work in accordance with Parsons Safety policies.
In addition, must be able to manage staff work load and backlog; coordinate with other offices to ensure proper staff is assigned to projects, identify and recruit staff, provide leadership and mentoring to staff; work with individuals to grow / develop, and perform annual reviews.
ESSENTIALS:
BS or MS in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical, Engineering with 8 plus years of related work experience in industrial wastewater treatment system conceptual design. Some specific refinery wastewater treatment experience is required. Detailed design and/or design build experience is a plus. The candidate should exhibit strong technical leadership, project and client management experience and have a professional engineering license. Candidate should be familiar with project controls philosophy and methods. Must have good technical writing and communication skills as well as be independent and resourceful.
