Electrical And Instrumentation Resident Engineer Job

Position Overview:
Responsibilities will include providing Assistant Resident Engineering/Deputy Construction Management support for the electrical and instrumentation construction, commissioning and start-up of wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and control systems. Experience with electrical and/or instrument and control system installation and commissioning is required. Reports to the assigned Resident Engineer and may conduct or assist with pre-construction conferences, supervise and direct Resident Inspectors, conduct and document site meetings dealing with Contractor work progress, schedule, coordination, record drawing as well as problem exposure and resolution meetings. Coordinates issue resolution arising from the inspection process or from contract administration. May be responsible for planning and scheduling all or part of the onsite staff and staff that come to the site on an intermittent basis; schedules surveyors and testing laboratories as necessary, may negotiate and resolve Change Order Requests and Request For Quotes proposals on behalf of the Owner. Keeps all parties of the contract informed of clarifications and interpretations required for proper execution of the contract. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be familiar with proper contractual protocol in dealing with contractors.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Degrees(s) Required: BS in Engineering, Construction or similar field.
Certifications Required: P.E in Electrical or Instrumentation\Controls, CCM (Certified Construction Manager) desirable.
Technical/Computer Skills Preferred: Working knowledge of Primavera Project Planner Expedition ("Contract Manager") software.
Previous Work Experience Required: Minimum 8 years resident engineering experience related to municipal and/or industrial facilities, or similar role.
Previous Work Experience Preferred: 5 years resident engineering experience related to water/wastewater treatment and conveyance facilities, or similar role. Experience with electrical and/or instrument and control installation and commissioning.
