Position Overview:
Wastewater treatment plant upgrades/expansions and rehabilitation / installation of water/wastewater pipelines.
Provides direction and management for medium-sized projects, or several small projects, and ensures on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations. The Project Manager is responsible for the scope development, scope management and commercial performance of the project to meet project goals and objectives. May have responsibility for subtasks of a larger program. Plans and defines program goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. Assists in the development and presentation of business proposals to key and strategic clients.
Requirements:
4-year degree in Engineering, Professional Engineer registration and at least 10-15 years of municipal engineering wastewater/water design experience (8MGD minimum), a broad general engineering background, and previous project management experience in a consulting engineering firm is required. This level of Project Manager must be able to manage a project, or subtask not less than $25 million in total construction value ($50 million preferred). Experience in resident engineering, construction management and/or alternative project delivery (APD) is desirable.
A proven ability to manage projects and perform in a client management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required. Should be familiar with the integration of engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction activities. Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
