NUCLEAR PROJECT MANAGER, SENIOR

With growing energy demands in the world, Nuclear Power is being looked to as a key source of dependable, efficient, clean energy, because it does not produce greenhouse gases that contribute to global climate change. This demand creates an opportunity for PARSONS to add a Senior Nuclear Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing large Nuclear projects and developing new and existing client relationships.

POSITION OVERVIEW :

This position will establish project scopes of work in the Nuclear area to ensure all are aligned and concur with the scope and their responsibilities, identify and include all pertinent parties in up-front planning and the appropriate engineering, design and development, and implementation phases. Work in a project team environment to execute engineering projects and construction projects. Interface with all disciplines and coordinate with senior management, project controls, construction, etc. as required. Establish and implement appropriate scope change controls. Define performance measurement criteria and monitor progress so that corrective actions can be implemented in a timely manner. Take active responsibility for schedules and budgets. Perform administrative duties such as preparing and presenting regular status and progress reports (budget, schedule etc.) Perform all project contract and documentation closeout as needed. Conduct project meetings. Observe and follow site safety and quality guidelines and procedures.

Requirements:

*Has had progressive experience in the Nuclear Industry in an engineering, supervisory and project management capacity.
*Knowledge of recent industry trends and approaches is also required.
*Familiarity with Nuclear Regulatory requirements and Quality Assurance is essential.
*Must be able to identify and assess business risks associated
*Will champion significant business initiatives using demonstrated creativity and ingenuity.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution. Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors. Markets and secures additional work with client. Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.

Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.

Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria. Responsible for the development and distribution of a one to two-page Description: of the project to all members of the project team for reference.

Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project. Assigns responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths. Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates. Field responsibilities may include labor relations, local procurement and payroll operations, etc., if required.

Mobilizes company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work. Discusses the qualifications required of the key project positions in specific detail with the profit center and department managers. Collaborates with the office facilities staff to address project space requirements.

Works with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project. Ensures that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
*BS Engineering discipline plus 10 years experience in the Power Industry in either plant operations or consulting engineering environments, with nuclear power exposure and nuclear site experience interfacing with engineering and field implementation required.
*Exposure to purchasing construction management and engineering management are also required.
*Advanced degree desired
We are looking for folks preferrably in Charlotte, NC. Will consider other locations with travel.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

Incumbent must meet Parsons' project management certification requirements. Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of Nuclear Industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
