Traffic Engineer Job

Report directly to the Project Manager;
Provide the overall planning and supervision of traffic and parking engineering activities elements of the PMP Contract;
Lead on the development, design as well as the analysis of parking demand, parking circulation analysis and parking operations performance;
Undertake all surveys relating to the PMP and producing reports appropriately with recommendations for the improvement of parking overall;
Manage Traffic Impact Studies of all Sectors affected by the PMP, and make appropriate recommendations that the Client could use in determining parking pricing strategy for the PMP to increase efficiency, reduce space hunting and therefore reduce emission.

A minimum of Masters Degree with emphasis in Traffic/Parking engineering from accredited university and/or licensing bureau that is specifically recognized by the Department and engineering profession as a minimum level of qualification for a practicing transportation/system engineer is required;
Previous work experience in similar role, particularly in Traffic and/or Parking Enforcement Management is desirable, and will be a distinct advantage;
Excellent inter-personal relationship management and experience;
Ability to work on own initiative, be extremely pro-active in prioritizing work to meet tight deadlines/within specified timescale;
Experience of dealing with senior officers from Clients' organisation and successfully managing stakeholders' relationships;
Practical experience in preparation of Traffic Impact Studies, Trip Generation and Distribution, Mode Choice, and Traffic Assignment, Traffic Data Collection and Analysis, Simulation and Modeling of Traffic Network of urban areas and freeways and corridor analysis using VISSIM and Synchro for signal timings optimization and traffic flow;
Successful previous experience as a Traffic Engineer as described above on a project of similar type and scope of work is desirable;
Strong communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English. Ability to communicate in Arabic will be an advantage.
